Job description

DBN - DRAUGHTSMAN (MECHANICAL) - PINETOWN

Purpose of the Job:

To provide multidisciplinary drafting support to engineering and manufacturing operations in order to achieve the highest levels of safety, efficacy, and dependability for both new and existing concepts and products.

Required Qualifications:

• B. Eng or B. Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Provable experience in designing programs SolidWorks and Inventor
• Valid driver's license with own reliable transport

Key Responsibilities:

1. Creating precise and thorough schematics and nestings in accordance with specifications
2. Ensure drafts adhere to industry standards and maintain quality compliance
3. Adopt ethical engineering drafting procedures
4. Collaborate with manufacturing departments to review and identify errors in equipment purchase, drafting, etc.
5. Communicate new designs with manufacturing
6. Respect project deadlines and budgetary constraints
7. Promote a culture of no-waste production
8. Provide management with detailed reports and summaries of new and current designs and advancements
9. Participate in weekly engineering and production meetings
10. Take responsibility and ownership for executing ad hoc projects and designs correctly
