Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking an experienced Draughtsman & Estimator to prepare technical drawings, cost estimates and quotations for aluminium and glass products, including windows, doors and shopfronts. You will support projects from initial measurements and design through to production and installation.

The role requires AutoCAD proficiency, 2–3 years’ experience in aluminium and glass manufacturing, and knowledge of AAAMSA and SAGGA standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate or qualification in Draughting and Design at NQF Level 4 or 5.
• AutoCAD certification.
• 2–3 years’ experience in aluminium and glass manufacturing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bizman.
• Strong Excel, estimating and costing skills.
• Knowledge of AAAMSA and SAGGA standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate manufacturing and shop drawings, elevations and cutting lists using AutoCAD and Bizman.
• Calculate quantities of glass, aluminium profiles and hardware, and prepare cost estimates, quotations, tenders and bills of quantities (BOQs).
• Submit drawings and quotations to clients for approval and release approved jobs into production.
• Take accurate on-site measurements and liaise with architects, clients and site managers.
• Assist with tracking projects through manufacturing and installation.
