Job Description: BIM Modelling Technician

This role requires a BIM software modelling technician with a solid understanding of their specific discipline.

The role can be presented by a junior professional or technician and focuses mainly on research and development of BIM in a holistic approach to the overall AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) or Built Environment.

Duties

General

• Work under the direction of the Senior Draftsman Team Lead
• Ensure construction documents accuracy based on discipline BIM modelling
• Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines on design changes and model challenges
• Adhere to BIM execution plan and BIM project workflow
• Present new technologies that align and add benefit to the overall company BIM strategy
• Follow BIM standards and development procedures
• May lead the development of discipline-specific BIM modelling content for projects
• Prepare BIM models for coordination meetings
• Oversee communication of project information via DWF for internal and external collaboration
• Perform simple drafting tasks under close supervision, often guided by finished work
• This is an entry-level position for engineering drafting, with sufficient training or experience to produce acceptable quality and quantity of simple, repetitive drafting work without additional on-the-job training.
• Expected progression to a Senior Drafting Technician role.
• Examples include assisting Principal Drafting Technicians, preparing simple engineering detail drawings, and maintaining files of completed work.

Administration / Internal Management

• Plan daily and weekly work schedules
• Complete tasks within agreed timelines and priorities
• Coordinate leave with project engineers and managers
• Adhere to internal procedures and systems
• Maintain daily timesheets using CKR's system
