Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for providing digitally enabled technology services as a group COE, driving business transformation, and offering group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and serve as technology governance and risk orchestrators across Sanlam.

As a Document Developer, you will be responsible for analyzing, developing, authoring, and maintaining Sanlam letters and forms primarily using Exstream and MTEXT languages.

What will make you successful in this role?

• Complete impact analysis of proposed system changes
• Assist in model design and data structures to support service developers
• Analyze and interpret received business specifications
• Design and develop documents according to rules and standards
• Perform unit testing to validate logic and correctness
• Implement correct documents into relevant environments as part of release management
• Provide technical support and assistance related to document management
• Review developer specifications and developed documents, providing feedback
• Maintain and support error resolution in production
• Perform standby duties when required
• Enhance performance and capability within Document Development Services through knowledge transfer and coaching
• Advise on the implementation and adoption of Document Development Services, staying updated on technology trends and best practices

Qualifications

Matric; relevant IT Diploma or Computer Science degree recommended

Experience

5 to 8 years in a similar role; experience in financial services advantageous; familiarity with SOAP UI, GIT, XSD, XML, XL Release, XL Deploy, JIRA; experience with Exstream or MTEXT preferred

Knowledge

Understanding of the Document Development Process within Sanlam SDLC; knowledge of software development methodologies; detailed knowledge of Eloquence/Exstream and MTEXT advantageous; familiarity with Agile methodology
