About the role:
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Partner is responsible for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”) within Zutari by developing and executing strategies that foster an inclusive workplace culture. This role involves developing and implementing DEI strategies, ensuring compliance with legislation and relevant policies while promoting equitable practices. The DEI Partner will support the Head: CSI, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in providing guidance on best practices and collaborate with leadership and various internal stakeholders to support DEI initiatives.
Role responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership and Stakeholder Management
- Support in the execution of strategies which promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organisation
- Partner with leadership and/or various internal stakeholders to ensure that DEI strategies are aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the organisation.
- Act as a trusted advisor on DEI related matters and provide expert advice
DEI Program Development and Implementation
- Develop, plan and manage DEI programs and/or identified initiatives e.g. awareness days, heritage month celebrations
- Develop and assess the impact of employee resource groups (ERGs) and other affinity groups, ensuring they have the necessary support to succeed e.g. Woman’s Forum
- Ensure that DEI initiatives are integrated into talent management practices, including recruitment, performance management, professional development, and retention strategies.
- Develop and implement a detailed communication strategy that enhances awareness and adoption of identified programs and initiatives
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collate data and report on DEI metrics to measure the impact of programs and identify areas of improvement
- Develop and maintain dashboards to track progress on DEI goals and report to relevant stakeholders
Training
- Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to design and facilitate training sessions on DEI related topics
- Ensure DEI information is accessible to all employees and that it is regularly updated to reflect current trends, legal requirements, and best practices
Continuous Improvement and Research
- Keep abreast of trends, legislation, and best practices in DEI and provide relevant insights to be incorporated in strategies and policies to ensure they remain relevant and impactful.
- Recommend new initiatives or approaches to enhance the organization's DEI efforts
Minimum requirements and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, social science, or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a DEI role preferably within a multinational company
- Proven experience in developing and implementing successful DEI initiatives and programmes
- In-depth understanding of DEI best practices and legal requirements e.g. BBBEE; EE
- Communication skills: Ability to engage effectively with management and employees at all levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to advocate for DEI initiatives
- Project/Programme Management skills: Ability to plan, implement DEI initiatives ensuring they are executed efficiently and meet organizational objectives
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data to drive decision-making and measure the effectiveness of DEI programs.
- Presentation and Facilitation skills: Ability to present/facilitate training and discussions on sensitive topics.
- Active Listening: The ability to listen empathetically and respond thoughtfully to individuals' experiences and concerns.
