Job description

Job Title: District Office Administrator

Location: Mafikeng, North West

Type of Appointment: Contractual

Reporting: Reports to the Provincial Manager

Job Purpose: To manage the elections of traditional councils (TCs) in the assigned municipal district in North West. To provide leadership for the management and execution of electoral tasks. To manage project staff including electoral staff. To manage key stakeholder relations and the media. To manage the district office systems, processes, and procedures. To ensure the success of the elections within the assigned district.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
  1. Planning
    • Comprehend the scope of the project.
    • Align project staff on the Project Implementation Plan (PIP).
    • Continually review the implementation of the PIP.
  2. Management
    • Manage the execution of the project according to the PIP.
    • Manage the project resources (time, money, equipment, personnel, assets, etc.).
    • Anticipate and manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
    • Ensure that project information is documented and securely stored.
    • Monitor and communicate progress and challenges.
    • Establish channels of communication and schedule updates for stakeholders.
    • Prepare and file project reports for the Project Steering Committee.
  3. Reporting
    • Submit regular reports via the project management system.
    • File reports to the PSC meetings.
    • Compile the district project implementation report.

Appointment Requirements

Formal Qualifications: Degree or diploma in the humanities e.g. business, law, administration, etc. A qualification in project management will be an added advantage.

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years proven experience in management and administration. Knowledge of managing elections will be an added advantage.

Engagement Terms

A monthly fixed fee will be negotiated and agreed upon depending on the profile, experience, and attributes of the candidate. The fee range is between R10,000.00 – R15,000.00 per month.

Ability to commute/relocate: Mafikeng, North West: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
