Job description

SUMMARY :

Opportunity for an experienced Delivery Service Manager with specific expertise in deliveries to secondary distribution routes and customers.

POSITION INFO :

The purpose of this position is to optimize deliveries to customers. It is based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town and offers a competitive package with benefits. This is an on-site role at the Distribution Centre, working Monday to Friday.

Requirements :

  • Matric with a relevant qualification or degree
  • Fluent in Business English
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Experience working with senior management
  • Advanced computer literacy

Skills and Responsibilities :

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role at a Distribution Centre, specifically related to deliveries to secondary routes and customers
  • Experience managing a fixed cost budget, route planning, and handling customer queries
  • Manage subordinates, including performance management, leave management, training, and departmental meetings
  • Ensure effective deliveries and cost control through route optimization, adherence to SOPs, managing departmental costs, budgeting, and developing cost-effective models
  • Manage customer relations by conducting surveys, addressing queries and complaints, and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers; assist in audits
  • Oversee safety compliance in accordance with OSH Act and company policies
