THE JOB AT A GLANCE : You are accountable for managing the effective distribution of products as a key team player in logistics and supply chain management. You will leverage information systems and software to enable an efficient distribution model for the Bakeries.
Ultimately, your goal is to balance the business desire to reduce costs and optimize safety with the need to have products available immediately.
This involves more than just moving products swiftly and cheaply; it requires detailed planning and execution to minimize risks and challenges, while being aware of marketplace dynamics and opportunities for improved competitiveness and growth.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the effective use of distribution resources, procedures, and controls to minimize losses and maximize product integrity at bakeries and depots.
- Conduct regular route profitability reviews and operate with the most cost-effective cents per kilometer.
- Utilize ERP systems effectively to drive financial controls.
- Maintain effective communication with finance, sales, and operations teams.
- Manage debrief processes at bakeries and depots to ensure information integrity and availability, enabling the sales function to maintain high customer service levels.
- Manage fleet to ensure optimal service levels at the lowest costs.
- Implement key metrics to drive business performance.
- Undertake business continuity planning and risk management to handle distribution risks.

Qualifications
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Apply sound judgment, high drive, and positive influence to manage distribution facilities and resources within operational budgets, meeting customer service levels and sales volumes.
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- At least 5 years of distribution experience in the bread baking industry, including a minimum of 3 years in management.
- Experience in continuous improvement, quality, and safety in manufacturing/distribution environments.
