Summary

SUMMARY : Role Purpose

The Dispatch Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all dispatch and logistics operations to ensure the accurate, timely, and safe delivery of products. This role requires strong leadership, operational planning, and the ability to manage frozen goods dispatch while ensuring compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.

1. Dispatch & Logistics Management
  • Plan, manage, and evaluate all logistics and dispatch operations.
  • Supervise, motivate, and manage all dispatch staff daily, ensuring adherence to policies and job responsibilities.
  • Coordinate the dispatch of goods and ensure accurate routing of deliveries.
  • Plan daily delivery routes and assign vehicles effectively.
  • Oversee sorting of picking slips into routes, ensuring deliveries align with available truck capacity.
  • Ensure timely vehicle loading in line with planned routes.
  • Conduct final quality checks of goods before loading.
  • Address and resolve customer delivery-related enquiries promptly.
  • Manage documentation and allocation of returned products.
  • Implement preventive measures to minimize stock losses and theft.
  • Oversee stock control in the dispatch freezer, ensuring all produced stock is collected, sorted, and allocated to the correct routes.
2. Fleet & Vehicle Management
  • Conduct regular inspections of trucks for damages, cleanliness, refrigeration, and maintenance.
  • Ensure drivers complete trip sheets daily.
  • Verify the availability of essential vehicle equipment (spare wheel, jack, emergency triangle).
  • Schedule and track servicing of all vehicles within specified timeframes.
  • Monitor and renew vehicle licenses before expiry.
  • Maintain and file complete service records for all vehicles.
  • Ensure petrol logs are updated and monitored for each truck.
  • Track vehicle movement throughout the day and resolve any deviations.
  • Verify all drivers hold valid PDP licenses, renewed annually before expiry.
  • Maintain organized records of all vehicle and driver documentation.
