Job description


Indigo Berries, a United Exports Farm in the Wellington area, is looking for a dedicated, experienced Dispatch Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible of dispatch staff, container loading team and Drivers. Loading and coordination of Sea freight containers. PPECB inspection planning bookings for containers. Dispatching facility orders (airfreight, local & sea freight orders).

Key Performance Outputs

  • Take full responsibility for supervising the dispatching staff.
  • Ensure all raw materials are received and orders dispatched.
  • Take full responsibility for load plans, offloading, route planning as well as working closely with drivers
  • To work closely with the logistics manager and other departmental supervisors to ensure efficiency in production and logistics.
  • To take responsibility of the forklift and pallet jacks and ensure safe use and cleaning of these equipment
  • Ensure that all employees use the company resources in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs.
  • Ensure Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during loading and offloading trucks.
  • Ensuring all coordination and all containers are loaded accurately implementing the OTO principle



Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate/ Grade 12
  • Knowledge of the packhouse working environment and 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of fruit quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Good understanding of safety procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of the stock systems and quality control principles.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of packing machinery.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organising skills.
  • Attention to detail and analytical in thinking.
  • Good stress management
