About Mutherboard
Mutherboard is an automation and integrations company focused on delivering operational excellence through smart automation.
We are a monday.com partner delivering high-impact implementations for UK and international clients. We also build AI agents, workflows, and integrations that replace spreadsheet-driven processes with scalable, connected systems.
Our operating values are GRIT:
- Growth - We push ourselves, our clients, and our numbers.
- Resilience - We find a way forward and get things done.
- Innovation - We ship, iterate, and prototype quickly.
- Teamwork - We win as one team, not as individuals.
The Role
We're hiring a Director of Sales to own our commercial engine end-to-end.
You will lead a combined New Business and Renewals function of 9-10 people through two Heads of Department, own the overall sales number, and be accountable for raising standards, closing performance gaps, and keeping the pipeline moving.
This is a hands-on leadership role. We're looking for someone who is comfortable operating in the detail - coaching teams, reviewing deals, challenging forecasts, identifying gaps, and driving consistent performance - while also having the commercial and strategic capability to shape how we sell, price, and grow over the next 2-3 years.
What You’ll Own
Commercial Performance
- Own new business, renewal, and expansion revenue targets.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline health, and board-level commercial reporting.
- Lead deal strategy and provide executive sponsorship on strategic and complex opportunities.
- Own key commercial metrics including win rate, sales cycle, ACV, retention, and net revenue retention.
Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable two Heads of Department: New Business and Renewals.
- Enable your Heads of Department to lead their teams effectively without stepping over them.
- Build a high-performance culture where standards are clear, visible, and consistently coached.
- Own hiring, onboarding, ramp-up, performance management, and succession planning across the sales organisation.
Operating Rhythm
- Establish and maintain weekly pipeline, forecasting, and 1:1 cadences with the two Heads of Department.
- Lead monthly commercial reviews with the Managing Director and leadership team.
- Own quarterly planning, including quota setting, territory design, compensation plans, and capacity modelling.
- Own the sales playbook, qualification framework, and sales stage definitions within monday.com.
Go-to-Market & Strategy
- Shape our ideal customer profile, segmentation, and messaging alongside Marketing.
- Partner with Delivery and Solutions to protect margins and ensure realistic project scope.
- Provide structured customer and pipeline insight to inform the product and services roadmap.
- Own the monday.com co-sell relationship and other strategic partner opportunities.
Systems & Visibility
- Run the commercial function through monday CRM, ensuring clean data, effective dashboards, and useful automations.
- Use data and leading indicators to identify performance gaps early and take action before they become larger problems.
What We’re Looking For
Non-Negotiables
- Proven B2B sales leadership experience, ideally within SaaS, MSP, professional services, or a software + services environment.
- At least 2-3 years' experience as a New Business Sales Manager or equivalent people‑leadership role before progressing to Director / Head of Sales level.
- A clear, evidenced track record of exceeding sales targets through both individual contribution and team performance.
- Experience managing managers, not just individual contributors.
- Experience owning both new business and renewal/expansion motions.
- Strong forecasting discipline and CRM management skills.
- Highly proactive, with the ability to identify gaps in performance, process, or people and take action without waiting to be asked.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience selling into the UK mid-market.
- Background in one or more of the following: SaaS, MSP, automation, integrations, consulting, monday.com ecosystem, HubSpot, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or similar.
- Experience selling services alongside software, including implementation, managed services, or support.
- Familiarity with modern sales tooling such as monday CRM, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, sales engagement platforms, and AI-assisted prospecting.
- Experience leading a renewals or customer-growth function, or working closely with one.
How You’ll Show Up
You’ll be:
- Commercially sharp, practical, and outcomes-focused.
- Direct but coach-first, raising standards while developing people.
- Comfortable operating in the detail, from call reviews and deal desks to forecast challenges and pipeline reviews.
- Numerate and commercially confident, able to defend a forecast, model a compensation plan, and understand commercial performance.
- Confident engaging with C-level buyers and internal leadership.
- Aligned with our GRIT values and committed to creating a high-performance, accountable team culture.
What Great Looks Like in Year One
