Applications are invited for the post of Director of Nursing - High Secure Services. This is a pivotal role and is a rare and exciting opportunity to provide the overall clinical leadership of Broadmoor Hospital.
The post holder will ensure that all aspects of nursing and multi-disciplinary care is delivered to agreed high standards which provide the best possible experience and outcome to service users across services in the Clinical Service Unit (CSU). They will provide professional leadership, supporting nursing and other staff to bring about service transformation and improved patient care, and will develop expert nursing practice and clinical leadership at a local level.

We are looking for a versatile, enthusiastic and experienced professional who has proven leadership and clinical skills, who is focussed on ensuring that patients within the hospital receive the highest standards of care and who will lead by example and be highly visible within the hospital.

Working in close partnership with the Service Director and Clinical Director / Senior Management team colleagues they will ensure that in-patient environments are fit for purpose in terms of meeting statutory requirements in relation to cleanliness, IPC, patient safety and staffing.Working with the Head of Nursing Education and Standards they will ensure that systems are in place for the local induction of nurses entering the service and overseeing the education, training and professional development of the nursing work force including preceptorship programmes.
The post holder will be jointly responsible for developing and implementing a performance management framework for all nursing staff with clearly defined and measurable objectives, and they will ensure variance is reported on all emerging issues and progress on nursing performance. Working closely with the other Senior Nurse Leaders of Nursing to implement the Nursing Strategy to strengthen, standardise and ensure high quality nursing contribution to inter-professional working across the CSU.
