Job Summary

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance department to ensure environmental center compliance with Federal, State, and Local ordinances, regulations, and building codes.

Ensures the center is maintained in a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition; in good repair, and free from hazards such as electrical, plumbing, ventilation, heating, and cooling system issues.

Also responsible for providing quality laundry services.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Supervise all Environmental Services personnel and daily work in assigned areas to enhance service levels while managing budgets, staffing, and resolving interdepartmental and personnel issues.
  • Maintain records of accounts payable, supplies, equipment maintenance, and other departmental activities.
  • Implement and record the preventive maintenance program to keep the center at optimal physical condition.
  • Develop and maintain the center profile and physical plant history, including documentation of maintenance activities and inventory of replacement parts and materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable regulations and codes.
  • Collaborate with residents, healthcare staff, and other departments regarding environmental service requests and infection prevention.
  • Provide timely follow-up and communication with requesting departments.
  • Communicate and consult with management on best practices.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma required.
  • One to two years supervisory experience in a commercial setting, with knowledge of laundry, housekeeping, or maintenance procedures.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in long-term care preferred.
  • HVAC experience, healthcare experience preferred but trainable.
