Job summary

Placements24, on behalf of a leading environmental NGO in the Nelspruit region, seeks a Program Director to lead strategic development, implementation, and oversight of all programs. You will manage a team of program managers, cultivate partnerships with government, donors, and communities, and ensure alignment with the mission.

The role combines on-site and remote work in a hybrid setup, with responsibilities including budgeting, reporting to the Board, fundraising, and advancing conservation

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 7–10 years of progressive program management and leadership in the non-profit sector.
• Proven track record in strategic planning, budget management, and staff supervision.
• Experience developing and implementing environmental programs and partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long-term strategic plans for all organizational programs, ensuring alignment with the mission and vision.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of program managers and staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of all programs, ensuring impact and effectiveness in environmental conservation efforts.
• Manage program budgets, including financial planning, resource allocation, and expenditure control.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, partner organizations, donors, and community leaders in Nelspruit.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and support grant writing efforts.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
• Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and public forums.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices in environmental conservation and non-profit management.
• Report on program progress and outcomes to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
