Minimum Requirements :
- Matric / Grade 12 plus a degree in Accounting / BCom or any financial related qualification on NQF level 7
- 10 years of experience, including 5 years in middle management
- 7-8 years managerial experience in financial report compilation, analysis, and interpretation
- 5 years’ experience in Public Sector Finance (MMFA or PMFA)
- Experience in financial management within the Local Government and public sector spheres is preferred
- Experience in budgeting, income, and expenditure management
- Management of assets
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and Access database
- Project management, risk management, and auditing experience is an advantage
Primary Function :
Lead and oversee the financial activities within the Department of Human Settlements by developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures in accordance with legislative frameworks.
Key Performance Areas :
- Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures for the department
- Manage procurement processes across all directorates
- Oversee asset and resource management, including materials and tools
- Lead financial planning and strategy development
- Prepare and consolidate reports for the Head of Department and stakeholders
- Disseminate financial policies, procedures, and legislation information to relevant stakeholders
- Manage team performance, productivity, and relations within the directorate
- Ensure risk management and governance oversight
