Job description

We require the services of a Direct Business Sales Consultant at the head office based in Johannesburg. To grow the company's core business portfolio by engaging and onboarding new business clients whilst ensuring that the customer is placed at the heart of all sales and commercial decisions in line with all customer experience strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Source leads or potential clients by hunting and cultivating strong relationships with third parties, partner companies, and existing clients.
  2. Generate and convert self-sourced leads through referrals, networks, and research.
  3. Proactively mine defined sources of business to acquire new subscriptions.
  4. Develop a pipeline to work from through referrals, marketing online, word of mouth, and networking with current clients.
  5. Present, promote, and sell products to existing and potential customers while ensuring the offering meets the needs of clients.
  6. Follow up on leads provided and engage regularly with existing and prospective customers.
  7. Ensure accuracy of client documentation and manage the company's requirements.
  8. Maintain a high level of relevant product knowledge to have meaningful conversations with customers.
  9. Report on sales activities to management on a weekly basis.
  10. Provide feedback to management on ways to enhance sales, improve the company brand, and deliver greater value to customers by extending the customer offerings.
  11. Interact with clients according to client-first principles and conduct a needs analysis to assist clients in better understanding their requirements.
  12. Implement a sales approach in line with the Customer Value Proposition (CVP) framework and apply individual sales techniques to engage prospective customers.
  13. Plan and execute work to achieve service level agreements, standards, and turnaround times in line with the value proposition.
  14. Follow sales and other processes to accurately and efficiently process customer documentation requirements for products sold.
  15. Understand and remain up to date with FAIS complete disclosure to clients regarding accreditation, service fees, and commission as outlined in the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act (FAIS).
  16. Ensure record-keeping requirements as outlined by FAIS and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) are implemented and adhered to.
  17. Ensure compliance with all applicable legislative requirements such as the Code of Banking Practice, National Credit Act, Companies Act, Consumer Protection Act, etc.
  18. Ensure implementation and adherence to all internal risk-related policies and guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. National Diploma in Sales, Marketing, or a related field. NQF 6 advantageous.
  2. FAIS advantageous.
  3. E5 accreditation advantageous.
  4. Years in a business-to-business sales environment occupying a sales-related position.
  5. Relevant business development experience will be an advantage.
  6. Own transport and valid driver’s license.
