We’re seeking a dynamic Digital Creative Copywriter to join our teamto craft compelling and engaging messaging and narratives that resonate with the Ackermans customer, align with the brand and take digital channel and platform considerations into account.
The copywriter will collaborate closely with relevant marketing team members to ensure, consistent, effective and impactful brand messaging is executed in a way that drives brand affinity, customer engagement and loyalty across multiple customer touchpoints.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Compelling Marketing Content:
- Develop creative, engaging, and persuasive copy for campaigns that resonate with the Ackermans customer
2. Maintain Brand
- Ensure consistency in brand tone and messaging across all marketing material and customer touchpoints
- Collaborate with Marketing team to ensure brand messaging is cohesive and effective
- Ensure all copy is grammatically correct, error-free and on brand
3. Segmentation and Personalization:
- Collaborate with Marketing team to segment the customer database effectively and personalize marketing content based on the Ackermans customer preferences for maximum impact.
4. Optimization
- Analyze and optimize marketing content and strategies based on customer engagement/feedback
- Keep up to date with industry trends, competitor activity and customer behaviour to inform marketing content and messaging
JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the retail/fashion industry is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of conversion focused content, sales funnels and consumer psychology.
- Understanding of direct marketing principles, digital advertising and content performance
Skills:
- Excellent copywriting and writing skills with the ability to craft impactful and distinctive brand narratives.
- A meticulous eye for detail, grammar and proofreading skills ensuring brand consistency and quality in all materials and output
- Ability to write in a clear, engaging and persuasive style that aligns with brand positioning and tone-of-voice.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills – strong storytelling ability
- A good command of the English language
- Creative thinking and ability to generate ideas for campaigns that drive engagement and conversion
- Proficient in MS-Office Suite

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric
- Bachelor’s degree / diploma in copywriting, journalism, marketing, communications or a related field
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years’ proven experience working as a copywriter across a range of digital communication platforms.
- Proven track record of crafting and executing compelling and impactful messaging with a customer-centric approach
- Experience working in a marketing or advertising agency environment.
Preferred:
- Experience within the retail/fashion industry preferred
- 1+ years of experience actively involved in the brand messaging for a large consumer or business facing brand
