JobStarter is looking to recruit a self-driven, ambitious, and tech-savvy community coordinator with the ability to create and maintain content to achieve our strategic goals.
You will focus on managing all community management, support, and communications, sharing content and information to raise brand awareness, monitor web traffic and metrics, and support users. Our ideal candidate is an experienced, up-and-coming professional with demonstrable online/learning platform creative multi-media and writing skills.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Digital Communication Manager to support young people online and manage Freshdesk, social media, create content, and community platforms. This role will be in-person, requiring community engagement and occasional travel.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day social media activity and planning, working with the Digital Communications Manager to brainstorm and explore ways to grow JobStarter’s social presence and relevance online.
Accurately engage with social media queries or comments across multiple platforms (Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) in line with brand tone and guidelines.
Manage and support our JobStarter users.
Conduct community data tracking and analysis.
Analyse data through JobStarter custom analytics, Google Analytics, and partner custom analytics.
Conduct user interviews, surveys, and/or polls with users and partners.
Keep abreast of trends, tools, and applications in line with communications best practices.
Qualification:
A relevant Diploma/Degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, or a related field.
Experience:
1-2 years working in online community management and/or content production.
Sound knowledge of data analytics: building reports, gathering findings and insights, and applying these to JobStarter.
Good writing and narrative skills including photo editing, short video editing, and basic graphic design.
Fluent in at least one other South African language (aside from English and Afrikaans).
Copywriting skills and understanding of how to engage audiences on social media.
Comfortable with content optimisation and developing a brand’s consistency.

Social media savvy, well versed in using social media tools (i.e., Loomly, Meta Business Suite).
Well versed in using design and digital content and community tools (i.e., Freshdesk, Grafana, Loomly, Figma, Google Analytics, basic short video editing, and design skills using platforms such as Canva and InDesign).
Demonstrable digital campaign experience, including web, app, and mobile design.
