Specifications

1. Support the Workshop Foreman in a constructive manner, ensuring that the internal department relationships are properly maintained.
2. Present exemplary task performance.
3. Personally manage work efficiently.
4. Properly record all hours worked and sold.
5. Ensure that all lubricants used are recorded on the job card.
6. Ensure that all parts used are recorded on the job card. Use systems and processes in place as instructed by management. This process may change from time to time; your understanding and adherence are crucial to the success of job card completion.
7. Record the use of consumable items.
8. Build sound relationships with parts staff.
9. Ensure that all tasks performed comply with minimum standards required by FAW SA.
10. Participate in all relevant training programs and share your knowledge with others.
11. Engage in personal learning and self-development.
12. When attending a breakdown, be courteous to customer staff and customers/managers.
13. Be properly dressed in correct PPE.
14. Ensure the vehicle you drive is properly cleaned and presentable.
15. Understand the job requirements to be well prepared for breakdowns.
16. Obey traffic rules; all fines will be routed to the offender.
17. Maintain good relationships with colleagues and peers, including apprentices, fostering a mentorship environment.
18. Support peers and learners, transfer skills effectively, and promote high productivity.
19. Set an example in punctuality.
20. Ensure warranty claims are correctly diagnosed based on the 3 C’s: Complaint, Cause, and Correction.
21. Take ownership of apprentices, ensure proper skills transfer, and provide equal opportunities for successful completion of apprenticeships.
22. Diligently complete all apprenticeship documentation, such as logbooks.
23. Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and encourage colleagues to do the same.
24. Properly use tools, special tools, and company assets.
25. Keep the workplace neat and tidy.
26. Promote wellness and confidence in job analysis and understanding within the team.
27. Always wear the correct PPE for each job.
28. Manage your working hours and overtime with your foreman, complying with the Labour Relations Act.
29. Maintain high levels of communication and provide relevant, concise feedback to the workshop manager.
30. Promote the company as a trustworthy and reliable brand.
31. Follow the philosophy of ‘the customer is king’.

Requirements

• Matric
• Diesel Trade Test Completed
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
• Code 14 licence with PDP
• Technical expertise, understanding, and knowledge
