Job Details

Title: Diesel Mechanic / Agricultural Service Technician

Program: Sponsored Provincial Immigration program

Purpose

Independently perform diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment. Ensure quality work and customer satisfaction while maximizing efficiency and productivity.

Critical Requirements

• Experience as an AGRICULTURE SERVICE TECHNICIAN
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and following Technical Manual procedures
• Ability to operate diagnostic vehicles and equipment
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs repeatedly; up to 75 lbs as needed
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary
• Self-management skills
• Valid driver's license required

Desired Experience and Qualifications

• Valid mechanical trade certificate
• Certified Journeyperson or equivalent
• 4+ years of service repair experience
• Knowledge of engines, hydraulics, powertrains, air-conditioning, mechanical and electrical systems used in agricultural and turf equipment
• Good English communication skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to learn and work hard

Key Responsibility Areas

1. Equipment Diagnostics, Repairs, and Optimization: Perform disassembly, diagnostics, repairs, and machine start-ups on agricultural and turf equipment. Support customer clinics and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition.
2. Administrative / Reporting / Goals: Achieve efficiency and productivity targets, complete reports, and manage work orders accurately. Follow safety rules and regulations.
3. Organization / Department / Team Support: Maintain a clean work area, build positive relations with coworkers, and ensure safety compliance.
4. Personal Development: Participate in training, develop skills and knowledge, and stay current with John Deere and related products.
