Placements24 is seeking motivated individuals for an apprenticeship as Trainee Diesel Mechanic in Port Elizabeth. You will gain hands-on experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines and heavy vehicles under seasoned mentors.

The program offers practical training, safety-focused culture, and a structured path toward a trade qualification. Applicants should be able to work in a workshop and commit to full training in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in mechanics and willingness to learn the trade.
• Completion of Grade 12 with emphasis on technical subjects is advantageous.
• Good problem-solving skills and methodical approach to diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior mechanics with routine maintenance and servicing of diesel engines.
• Learn to diagnose mechanical and electronic faults using diagnostic tools.
• Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes and suspension components.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow workshop safety procedures.
