Our client, an operationally efficient storage facility in proximity to coastal and inland logistics hubs, is searching for a qualified diesel mechanic to join their team who has exposure and is familiar with Yellow Metal. The job will entail inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and machinery.
POSITION INFO : Key Responsibilities
- Diagnosis : Using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems in diesel engines and related systems.
- Repair & Maintenance : Performing repairs, replacements, and adjustments to various parts, including engines, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and braking systems.
- Routine Servicing : Conducting routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, fluid checks, and tyre rotations.
- Testing : Test-driving vehicles and equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Record Keeping : Maintaining accurate records of services and repairs performed.
- Safety Compliance : Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaboration : Working with other mechanics and technicians to complete projects efficiently.
- Technical Knowledge : Strong understanding of diesel engine systems, components, and repair techniques. Must have experience working with Yellow Metal (Excavators, front end loaders, TLB’s, Skid Steer Loaders, Tele Handlers etc). Preferably Komatsu / Bell / Caterpillar etc.
- Diagnostic Skills : Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret diagnostic test results to identify issues.
- Repair Skills : Proficiency in using relevant specialised equipment for repairs.
- Problem-Solving : Ability to analyse issues, troubleshoot problems, and develop effective solutions.
- Communication : Effective communication skills for interacting with colleagues, and supervisors.
