DIESEL MECHANIC
Pearl Valley Golf Estate currently has an exciting full-time vacancy for a dynamic individual, who will be part of their Workshop / Mechanical team. The responsibilities of the job incumbent include the following functions:
- Maintenance of all machinery and equipment, including tractors, golf carts, and other farm equipment.
- Test drive tractors, golf carts, and other farm equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Proactive problem solving.
- Repair of daily breakages.
- Completing daily job cards.
- Making inquiries with technical service providers regarding specialist work.
- Maintaining workspace, equipment, and tools in a safe and clean manner.
- Ability to diagnose faults, strip, and re-assemble machines without supervision.
- Record observations and findings during diagnostic runs.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Knowledge of generators and maintaining them if required.
The ideal candidate must adhere to the following specifications:
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years' working experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role.
- Computer literacy (MS Word and MS Excel).
- Flexibility and detail orientation.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Willingness to do overtime and standby duties.
- Must be medically and physically fit to carry out work.
- Obedience to Health and Safety regulations.
- Stress tolerance, trustworthiness, and a positive attitude.
- Team player.

- This vacancy requires staff to have their own transport to and from work.
- No leave is to be taken during the season (December and January).
