Job description

DIESEL MECHANIC

Pearl Valley Golf Estate currently has an exciting full-time vacancy for a dynamic individual, who will be part of their Workshop / Mechanical team. The responsibilities of the job incumbent include the following functions:

1. Maintenance of all machinery and equipment, including tractors, golf carts, and other farm equipment.
2. Test drive tractors, golf carts, and other farm equipment to ensure proper functioning.
3. Proactive problem solving.
4. Repair of daily breakages.
5. Completing daily job cards.
6. Making inquiries with technical service providers regarding specialist work.
7. Maintaining workspace, equipment, and tools in a safe and clean manner.
8. Ability to diagnose faults, strip, and re-assemble machines without supervision.
9. Record observations and findings during diagnostic runs.
10. Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
11. Knowledge of generators and maintaining them if required.

The ideal candidate must adhere to the following specifications:

1. Grade 12 qualification.
2. Minimum of 5 years' working experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role.
3. Computer literacy (MS Word and MS Excel).
4. Flexibility and detail orientation.
5. Ability to work independently.
6. Excellent organizational skills.
7. Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
8. Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
9. Willingness to do overtime and standby duties.
