A leading company in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic based in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing diesel engines and conducting inspections to enhance operational efficiency. This role requires extensive experience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in both Afrikaans and English.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in fault finding, repair, and maintenance.
• Understanding of electrical pneumatics and hydraulic systems.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.

Job description

Responsibilities:

* Repairing diesel engines and all the components to ensure the engines operate efficiently.
* Conducting route cause failure analysis inspections to determine the cause of failure on components.
* Correcting vehicle (defects) by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing impaired parts or
components according to Company procedure.
* Ensuring the continuous upkeep of preventive maintenance schedules
* Collect work orders daily and complete job cards for every completed task.
* Test drive heavy vehicles after service and repair.

Requirements:

* Recognised trade test in Diesel Mechanic coupled with 5 years of experience in fault finding, repair and maintenance.
* Understanding of electrical pneumatics and hydraulic systems within heavy-duty vehicles, as well as being able to perform
maintenance and repairs on these systems.
* Efficient communication in Afrikaans and English
* High-level problem-solving skills
* Valid driver's license with own transport.
