Overview

INTERNAL VACANCY – DIE MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

The Company is looking for an energetic individual that will assist the Die Maintenance Department to prepare dies to required standards for the Casting areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide the Foundry with tooling and riser tubes to achieve the production plan.
• Operation of shot blaster and blasting tools to the required roughness.
• Mixing of Die cote to the correct viscosity and record.
• Preparing of riser tubes.
• The Service and Spray up of moulds requirements, ensuring that the moulds are ready as per cast plan.
• General maintenance on shot blaster to keep machine in perfect working condition (cleaning of filters replacement of steel shot general housekeeping etc.).
• Assisting toolmaker when needed.
• Strictly adhere to the Health, safety and Environmental (HSE) policy of the Company.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent (essential) including mathematics and science as subjects.
• Technical N subjects will be an added advantage.
• Forklift license will be an advantage.

Work Experience

• Previous foundry experience advantageous.
• 2 years work experience in a wheel making plant will be advantageous.

Other Requirements

• Excellent attendance record and impeccable disciplinary record
• Knowledge of all Foundry processes
• Good decision making and problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Must be able to work in heat conditions and be physically able to do job
• Good communication skills
