Job Description
To diagnose faults, repair, and conduct scheduled vehicle services according to prescribed standards of Audi South Africa. Deliver high-quality technical expertise to satisfy customers and uphold Distributor Service delivery values. Adhere to the company's and brand South Africa's policies, procedures, and expectations regarding your role as Diagnostic / Master Technician.
Specific Role Responsibilities
- Carry out diagnostic work and support mechanics as directed by the Foreman to facilitate fault diagnosis and expedite vehicle servicing.
- Ensure servicing of vehicles remains within targeted manufacturer time standards.
- Discuss matters with service advisors and customers as needed, providing clear explanations.
- Maintain vehicle care and safety standards during all functions.
- Ensure vehicles are returned to customers in a neat and clean condition after service.
- Recommend the purchase of capital equipment.
- Complete forms and documentation as part of the company's service routine.
- Draft and prepare any required reports.
- Mentor apprentices, sign off logbooks, and evaluate their technical abilities.
- Ensure effective communication with staff, across departments, with customers, and service providers.
- Participate in marketing campaigns when required to promote the business.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12
- N6 trade certificate, Olifantsfontein motor mechanic trade papers, or qualification on the CBMT level system.
- Additional advantageous qualifications include health and safety-related certifications.
Skills and Personal Attributes
- Strong mechanical insight.
- Successful completion of OEM technical training courses; Porsche, BMW, or Mercedes training is acceptable.

- Excellent track record of fixing vehicles right the first time.
- Knowledge of German OEM South Africa operating computer programs such as ODIS and Elsapro.
- Ability to use manufacturer diagnostic equipment and computer tools (Vas Machines).
- German vehicle product training.
- Strong English communication and writing skills for accurate documentation.
- Computer literacy.
