DevOps / PHP & Laravel Lead Developer – Cape Town.

Looking to engage with DevOps / PHP & Laravel developers for new possibility – Cape Town based UK Co.

Lead Developer to own Laravel + React web app development, from concept to deployment.

Lead core web app, manage AWS DevOps & support mobile app. As a key early hire, to work solo or with junior developer, & collaborate with UK tech & product leads to shape our technical foundations & growth.

You need

• Experience leading or owning projects in small teams/solo
• Expertise in PHP & Laravel (or Python/Django, Node.js)
• JavaScript (React/Redux; Vue.js/Angular welcome).
• Comprehensive AWS DevOp – CI/CD, Terraform/CloudFormation, designing & managing scalable & secure cloud environs & Implementing AWS security best practices
• Proficient robust monitoring, logging (e.g., advanced CloudWatch) & alerting strategies to ensure high availability & performance

To Do

• Own Laravel + React web app development, from concept to deployment
• Manage & enhance our AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines & deployment processes, continuously optimising for performance, security, & cost-effectiveness
• Support our React Native iOS app
• Set coding standards, lead technical decisions & maintain clear technical documentation
• Collaborate closely with UK team on product planning, technical strategy & delivery
• Play a pivotal role in shaping Cape Town dev team’s growth & culture
• In 1st months, lead a key project—eg: migrating S3 to a zero-egress alternative
