Job summary

Red & Yellow Creative School of Business in South Africa seeks a DevOps Engineer with deep hands-on Linux, containerisation, networking/security expertise to join our IT team. You will design and maintain scalable infrastructure and deployment pipelines, integrating Azure/M365 and identity services to ensure secure access and reliable operations.

You will work closely with the Head of Technology to improve reliability, security, and automation, while documenting standards and procedures for IT

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps / infrastructure / systems engineering roles.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support mindset.
• Comfortable owning both cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
• Security-conscious and able to design practical, secure access patterns.
• Able to work independently and excellent communication skills to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support secure, scalable infrastructure and deployment workflows
• Administer Linux-based systems and Docker/container environments
• Manage networking and firewalling, including VLANs, firewall rules, and WireGuard VPNs
• Support identity and access integrations using SAML and OIDC
• Manage and support Azure Portal / Azure cloud, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and Intune
• Configure and maintain NGINX reverse proxy/load-balancing setups
• Own monitoring and alerting using Zabbix
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, authentication, and performance issues
• Work with development and IT teams to improve reliability, security, and automation
• Document systems, standards, and operational procedures
