Elixirr Digital is seeking a DevOps Engineer to build and maintain production infrastructure supporting our software development goals. You will automate tasks, deploy code and data, and enable CI/CD frameworks in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires on-site work from our Johannesburg or Cape Town offices, with opportunities to work on AWS and Azure, Kubernetes clusters, and modern CI/CD environments. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

Good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Proficient in Python for scripting and automation.
Understanding of PaaS and cloud environments.
Extensive knowledge of Linux.
Experience with web servers (NGINX, Apache).
Experience with Jenkins/Travis CI/CircleCI/Bitbucket Pipelines.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
Monitor resources and ensure high availability and security.
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid deployment.
Develop and maintain Kubernetes and Docker clusters.
Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to implement features.
Research and adopt new technologies to improve operations.
Ensure compliance with security policies across cloud services.

Job description

Join Elixirr Digital as a DevOps Engineer and help us in building and maintaining internal infrastructure to support our software development goals!

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the automation of all manual tasks, and for the building and deployment of both code and data in order to enable continuous integration and continuous deployment frameworks!

What will you be doing as a DevOps Engineer at Elixirr Digital?

Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure to support enterprise-grade applications
Monitor cloud resources and applications to ensure high availability and proactive troubleshooting
Implement security best practices and compliance policies across all cloud services and platforms
Create and maintain CI/CD environments to facilitate an Agile development process
Develop and maintain Kubernetes and Docker clusters for orchestrating containerized applications
Research, recommend, and implement new technologies
Identify common solutions to specific requirements not covered by current conventions
Collaborate with developers, designers, QA, and product owners to analyze, design, and implement functionality in software products

Competencies and skillset we expect you to have to successfully perform your job:

Good understanding of how DevOps & CI/CD working principles and practices can be used to increase speed and quality
Previous experience working with Docker and Kubernetes
Proficient in Python for scripting and automation
Understanding of PaaS
Proficient in managing cloud environments
Extensive knowledge of Linux
Experience with Web servers (NGINX, Apache2)
