Pragma Global is building a small Innovation Hub and seeks a DevOps Engineer who will own DevOps and contribute to development for the first year. You’ll work hands-on on internal tools, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure, shaping the team’s workflow with minimal supervision.
The role is hybrid, requiring independent problem solving and strong collaboration with a Business Analyst and Department Head. Prior DevOps and development experience are essential.
Pragma is a South African asset management and reliability engineering company (established in 1990), developer of the On Key EAMS platform. We foster a team environment in which each individual is recognised, valued and developed. We encourage people with disabilities and from diverse backgrounds to apply.
You’ll be one of the founding members of Pragma’s new Innovation Hub, a small, newly created division. The initial team is intentionally lean: a Department Head, this DevOps Engineer role, and a Business Analyst, with a Developer to join later. That means real ownership and visibility from day one, but also fewer layers to lean on — you’ll be expected to make calls independently and help shape how the team works as it grows. This is a hybrid DevOps Engineer / Developer role within Pragma’s newly formed Innovation Hub. For at least the first year, the successful candidate will spend a significant portion of their time hands‑on with development, building and supporting internal tools alongside the Business Analyst and Department Head, while also owning the DevOps function: CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and production support. Because the Innovation Hub is a small, lean team with limited in‑house mentoring capacity, we need someone who can work independently from day one, exercising sound judgement with minimal oversight.
