Job description

Job Title: Development Engineering Officer X2 – REF: JW398EX/2025

Location: Gauteng, Johannesburg

Application Deadline: June 29, 2025

Key Responsibilities
  1. Receive and assess applications for new township developments from the City of Johannesburg using GIS, Alchemy, and IMQS to evaluate existing water and sanitation services, system layouts, and servitudes.
  2. Analyze design assumptions related to the capacity of infrastructure to meet water and sanitation demands.
  3. Review construction drawings from consulting engineers to ensure compliance with standards and assess site development plans against JW’s standards, ensuring services are not compromised.
  4. Process applications for extensions over building lines, including reviewing plans, title deeds, and rights schedules.
Job Requirements: Essential Qualifications and Experience
  1. National Diploma in Civil Engineering (NQF6).
  2. At least 3 years of engineering experience, including designing water and sewer systems.
  3. Knowledge of township development processes, evaluation of construction drawings, and assessment of site development plans.
