Job description

Our client, with a footprint in Johannesburg, Kwazulu Natal and Cape Town is a multi-disciplinary organization, who also handle property investment and management. Their extensive commercial and industrial portfolio has positioned them as a prominent leader in their respective sectors.

To add capacity in their Gauteng team, they are appointing a Senior Project Manager. Working with the senior Development Manager, your primary focus will be on overseeing the development of large land banks that will house multiple industrial parks. You will help to ensure that projects are planned and packaged in the most optimal manner, and then have full oversight of the construction phase. Additionally, you will be involved in other large scale projects such as fitouts, extensive repairs / major maintenance overhauls including giving guidance to the facilities manager.

As such, you will be overseeing contractors, advising on procurement of resources and allocation, reporting on project progress, and ensuring that all projects and phases thereof are completed timeously. Getting involved from inception to completion other accountabilities such as risk management, developing and implementing site safety plans & quality assurance stakeholder management will fall on to you.

Requirements such as having a tertiary qualification in the built environment and having a minimum of 10 years’ experience in industrial development are non-negotiable. A solid understanding of finances, a team-oriented approach, and access to your own transportation are also required. Prior experience in retail and commercial property development would be beneficial.
