Mid-Level C# .NET Developer Interested in Generative AI Applications

We’re looking for a C# .NET Developer with 3–6 years' experience to join our team working on robust API-driven systems. You'll build backend services using .NET Core/8, interact with SQL Server, and document/test APIs using Swagger and Postman.

About TAILORBLEND

TAILORBLEND creates 100% personalised supplements by selecting the optimal active ingredients for an individual based on their unique needs, and then integrating those ingredients into a single bespoke beverage (a fruity drink or a protein shake). One serving can replace up to 40 capsules, and typically replaces 5-10 standard products, allowing our clients to enjoy the ease, certainty and cost-saving of a single personalised supplement.

Most of our products are currently based on the DNA test results of patients, who access our services through our healthcare practitioner network. TAILORBLEND typically recommends the active ingredients using our deterministic Formulation Engine, which can use genetic data, blood test results, questionnaire results etc. as inputs. Blends can also be manually created on our online platform (https://tailorblend.co.za/Web/Blend).

Once the active ingredients & product attributes are selected, the beverage's production-recipe is created by our Recipe Engine, which implements both supplementation rules (dosage & combination safeguards) as well as our crucial food science IP (adapting the flavour / sweeteners etc.) to assure a safe and palatable end product.

The mission

The mission of this developer role is to help launch TAILORBLEND into the world of AI agents.

AI will democratise the knowledge currently held by biotech companies (like DNA testing / nutrigenomics) and healthcare professionals, and put it in the hands of individuals. TAILORBLEND will develop the infrastructure to support this new AI-first paradigm, by allowing AI agents to not only make supplement recommendations, but to actually formulate personalised supplements on our platform on behalf of their human users.

We have already built the AI-ready Recipe Engine algorithms, an agent friendly universal API, as well as the first rudiments of an MCP server.

We are now looking for someone to join our mission to build our first agentic-AI MVP (minimum viable product) and beyond. The successful applicant will work closely with TAILORBLEND’s founder & lead developer to iterate fast through the space of opportunities in order to find product-market fit.

The role will be unstructured and require the developer to participate in the process of continuously redefining the project requirements by exploring emerging AI capabilities and ideating their integration with the TAILORBLEND system (working in an Agile development environment). For this reason, the ideal candidate will have knowledge of our current tech stack, some experience with generative AI implementations, and an interest in operating within a highly dynamic tech-startup environment.

What You’ll Do:

Build Agentic AI MVP / Demo (Direct-to-Consumer)

• Users can use ChatGPT (or OpenAI powered bot) to formulate their unique supplements within the constraints of what TAILORBLEND offers.
• The AI agent creates the actual product via the TAILORBLEND MCP / API*
• The custom formulated product is presented to the user within the chat interface (nutritional details, price, product shot etc.)*
• The user can follow a link to their TAILORBLEND account, where they can purchase the product*

*Much of the infrastructure, like the API, generation of a product on our system within a client account, the link to the account etc. already exists, and can just be used within the AI context.

Build out infrastructure peripheral to the AI product to facilitate go-to-market, eg. designing & testing different user journeys.

Expand on AI infrastructure to allow other AI implementations like business-to-business (eg. interfacing with the AI’s of DNA testing companies etc.) and creating AI assistants for our healthcare practitioners.
