Job Summary :

ISN is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Desktop Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for our diverse range of external clients, providing timely and effective technical assistance and support for their desktop hardware, software, and related IT issues. You will play a crucial role in ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining the smooth operation of their IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide first-level technical support to external clients via phone, email, and in-person, addressing hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems efficiently and accurately, escalating complex issues to senior technical staff when necessary.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Assist clients with software installations, upgrades, and basic application support.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, including LAN, WLAN, and VPN.
  • Provide support for email clients, internet browsers, and other common business applications.
  • Document all support interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in a ticketing system.
  • Follow established procedures and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely and effective support.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction, ensuring clear communication and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Educate clients on basic IT procedures and best practices.
  • Assist with the setup and support of audio-visual equipment for client meetings and presentations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and best practices in desktop support.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Proven experience (typically 1-3 years) in a desktop support role, preferably within an IT service provider environment supporting external clients.
  • Solid understanding of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop hardware and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with common business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, email clients).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Switches, Routers).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • A relevant IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is essential for on-site client visits
