Responsibilities
  • Scripting and Automation: Uses languages like PowerShell or Bash to automate routine tasks and enhance troubleshooting efficiency.
  • Security Best Practices: Applies cybersecurity measures to protect desktop environments from threats.
  • Cloud Services: Supports cloud applications like Office 365, AWS, or Google Workspace.
  • Active Directory Management: Manages user accounts and permissions in Active Directory (AD).
  • User Support: Provides advice, training, and assistance to users to resolve complex queries and ensure the applications/website capabilities are well understood by the business.
  • Data Management: Helps others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice.
  • Client & Customer Management (Internal): Helps senior colleagues manage internal client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
  • Administration: Produces, updates, and provides best practice support on complex Microsoft documents, databases, and other departmental systems, advising colleagues as needed and using expertise to help improve processes.
  • Faults Diagnosis and Correction: Provides fault isolation and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.
  • Documentation and Backup: Drafts and maintains basic technical and/or user documentation to a high standard and creates backup files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.
  • Knowledge Management System: Helps others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
  • Operational Compliance: Identifies, within the team, instances of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and reports and escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Work Scheduling and Allocation: Designs monthly schedules and, if necessary, assigns work to others to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks are completed.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develops own capabilities through assessment, training, and ongoing education to stay current with relevant technology and industry best practices.
Education & Certifications
  • National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MS-900, MD-102) are advantageous.
  • ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
Experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in a desktop support or EUC role.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 10/11, Office 365, Active Directory, and SCCM or Intune.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security, VPNs, and remote access tools.
