We provide practical solutions that are safe, innovative, and sustainable, thinking globally while acting locally.

Are you looking for an opportunity to join a diverse group of professionals committed to excellence?

We look forward to hearing from you. Our Technologies team commercializes and delivers technologies across all three of Hatch's sectors: Metals, Energy, Infrastructure.

We are a team of innovators and problem solvers delivering custom and specialized engineering solutions. We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Technologies team.

In this role, you will produce mechanical layouts, models, and drawings according to project requirements under the supervision of the Lead Mechanical Designer.

The Team: Developing innovative technologies is a key part of Hatch's history and legacy. Our team focuses on the commercialization and delivery of technologies across Metals, Energy, and Infrastructure sectors.

We develop new technologies, assist with equipment installation in greenfield projects, and support clients in optimizing existing assets through field support, rebuilds, repairs, and retrofits.

The Role: Provide design input throughout the project lifecycle, including layout, conceptual design, and detailed engineering. Design mechanisms, subsystems, and equipment involving mechanical, structural, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic components. Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, manufacturability, and finishes. Produce engineering design packages for review, assist with mechanical design and detailing, and support less experienced team members. Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, vendors, and management. Ensure timely delivery of submissions and participate in engineering reviews and site visits.

About you: A post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering, or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years' experience. Proficiency in Siemens Solid Edge, SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, or Catia is preferred. Skilled in 2D drafting tools like AutoCAD or MicroStation. Knowledge of GD&T, welding procedures, and industry standards. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently are essential. Experience with product design, engineering data management, PLM tools, or ERP systems is advantageous.

Don't meet every requirement? You don't need to. At Hatch, we foster a diverse, inclusive workplace that encourages innovation. We consider applicants without regard to age, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or other protected categories. If you require accommodations, please let us know.

About the company: Hatch provides engineering, project management, consulting, and operational services to the mining, metallurgical, energy, and infrastructure industries. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
