Job summary

Resourgenix in Cape Town is seeking a Power BI Designer/Developer for a hybrid-term contract. You will design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards, build SQL queries and ETL procedures, and prep data using Excel to deliver clear insights for business stakeholders.

The role requires strong Power BI, DAX, Power Query and SQL Server expertise, plus excellent communication to translate requirements and ensure data privacy and security across solutions.

Qualifications

Power BI Designer/Developer - Hybrid - Cape Town based Contract role

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy effective Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Design databases and develop complex SQL queries on SQL Server to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, including flat CSV files and Excel files.
• Write SQL procedures and functions to optimize data retrieval and manipulation for Power BI reporting.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to manage, analyze, and prepare data for visualization.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data displayed in Power BI dashboards.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data visualization needs and provide solutions that meet business requirements.
• Optimize SQL database designs and queries to improve the performance of Power BI reports.
• Maintain and support existing Power BI solutions, including troubleshooting and making improvements as needed.
• Collaborate with IT and data teams to integrate Power BI reports into business processes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features and best practices in data visualization.
• Provide training and support to business users on effectively utilizing Power BI dashboards.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
