Job summary

MULTIFORM HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced design leader to drive innovation in heavy engineering and mineral processing equipment. The role blends strong technical capability with proven leadership and practical site experience.

The candidate will lead a design office, oversee plant layout development, and ensure robust fabrication practices, with travel to sites as required. A background in mechanical engineering and extensive design discipline leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of mechanical design experience in mining, mineral processing, heavy engineering or industrial manufacturing.
• 3–5 years leading a design office, engineering design team or drawing office.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to manufacturing facilities and project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a design office and engineering design team.
• Oversee heavy fabrication and mineral processing equipment design projects.
• Ensure design for manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA/DFMt) and maintain CAD standards.
• Coordinate with manufacturing facilities and project sites to deliver on schedule.

Required Qualifications

• B.Eng., B.Tech. or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in mechanical design within mining, mineral processing, heavy engineering or industrial manufacturing.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience leading a design office, engineering design team or drawing office.
