Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the Railway Engineer on planning studies, preliminary design studies, and final design of passenger rail, freight rail, private sidings, and standard gauge railway projects.

The Railway Engineer will coordinate, cooperate, and collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members and external specialist service providers.

The Railway Engineer will also support business development functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive innovative railway design solutions using advanced computer software while adhering to established standards and procedures.
  2. Deliver specialized technical expertise across railway studies and designs, ensuring accuracy and quality of outcomes.
  3. Develop and review comprehensive technical specifications, design calculations, 3D models, and documentation.
  4. Perform technical quality assurance reviews to maintain compliance with quality, safety, and corporate standards.
  5. Lead and coordinate small to medium-sized teams of multi-disciplinary design engineers.
  6. Participate in and lead interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
  7. Manage deliverables within agreed budgets and timelines with minimal supervision.
  8. Consult with authorities to secure necessary technical approvals.
  9. Develop accurate construction cost estimates and resource planning forecasts.
  10. Present technical solutions to clients with clarity and professional expertise.
  11. Participate in client meetings to gather requirements, explain design rationale, and address technical queries.
  12. Contribute to bid development and proposal preparation.
  13. Build and maintain strong relationships with interdisciplinary teams and external specialists.
  14. Identify opportunities to enhance existing processes and develop novel solutions for unprecedented challenges.
  15. Apply innovative problem-solving approaches by adapting standard procedures based on past project learnings.
  16. Contribute technical expertise to improve methodologies and best practices.
  17. Maintain cutting-edge technical knowledge and capabilities in railway engineering.
