Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a versatile Web Designer & Developer to join our Paarl team. The role blends creative design with hands-on development to build fast, accessible websites and maintain digital properties from concept to launch.

You will transform design mockups into functional pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal or Joomla, while optimizing for speed, SEO and user experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Web Designer & Developer or similar role with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design techniques.
• Experience with CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
• Understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices for web design.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive websites.
• Translate design mockups and wireframes into fully functional web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Implement and manage content management systems (e.g., WordPress) to facilitate easy content updates.
• Optimize websites for speed, performance, and search engine visibility (SEO).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure project goals are met.
• Perform regular website maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality.
