Placements24 is seeking a Design Architect for a distinguished architectural firm in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will develop innovative concepts and lead design development for commercial and institutional projects, translating briefs into inspiring architectural solutions.

Join a collaborative team by contributing to presentations, models, and construction documents, while staying abreast of trends and best practices in SA. SACAP registration and a robust design portfolio are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• SACAP registration is essential.
• A minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience in architectural design.
• Strong portfolio showcasing design conceptualization and development.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent 3D modeling and rendering capabilities.
• Strong understanding of architectural theory, history, and practice.
• Ability to articulate design ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Experience with building codes relevant to South Africa; commercial/institutional projects advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative design concepts for commercial and institutional projects in Pretoria.
• Translate client requirements and program needs into functional and inspiring architectural solutions.
• Produce design presentations with sketches, renderings, and digital models.
• Collaborate with project teams to refine designs and ensure technical feasibility.
• Research materials, technologies, and sustainable design strategies relevant to project goals.
• Prepare design development documentation and assist with construction documents.
• Liaise with consultants, engineers, and stakeholders during the design phase.
• Stay informed about current architectural trends and best practices.
• Contribute to the firm’s design discourse and intellectual capital.
• Participate in design reviews and critiques.
