Job description

The Design and Creative Manager will be responsible for leading the creative team in devising innovative strategies and brand architecture that effectively represent the brand identity and resonate with our target audience for the Barloworld Equipment brand across all regions. Developing compelling visual and written content across various mediums including digital platforms, print materials, exhibitions and campaigns. Ensuing a consistent brand presentation and messaging across all communication channels to generate leads and strengthen customer engagement and loyalty. Working closely with cross-functional teams to align marketing and communication efforts with the overall business strategy and goals.

Key Outputs

  • Leading the in-house creative and copywriting team and external agencies to deliver high-quality, impactful design work aligned with the Barloworld Equipment brand across al regions.
  • Develop visual concepts and copy for marketing campaigns, product launches, events, internal communications, and stakeholder engagement to generate leads and strengthen customer engagement and loyalty.
  • Oversee the creation of brochures, product catalogues, signage, technical diagrams, vehicle and machinery branding, presentations, and digital content (e.g., web, email, social media, and video).
  • Ensure creative materials adhere to corporate identity guidelines, Caterpillar co-branding standards, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Support strategic campaigns by producing innovative, on-brand designs that drive lead generation and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Product Support, HR, and Digital to develop integrated communication solutions.
  • Manage creative project timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and supplier relationships.
  • Direct visual storytelling efforts through photography, video production, and motion graphics for use in exhibitions, digital platforms, and internal communications.
  • Stay up to date with trends in industrial design, digital media, and sustainability-focused branding.

Minimum Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, or related field.
  • Advantageous: Post graduate degree in marketing, communications or psychology
  • Essential:
  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior design/creative leadership role, preferably within the B2B or industrial sectors.
  • Copywriting skills
  • Excellent portfolio demonstrating brand development, campaign creativity, and technical execution.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and familiarity with 3D tools or CAD visualisation (advantageous).
  • Experience managing creative teams and external suppliers (printers, photographers, videographers, etc.).
  • Understanding of industrial marketing, equipment branding, and technical product communication
  • Industry best practices and methodologies
  • Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication
  • Understanding of consumer needs and behaviour

Minimum Required Experience:

Knowledge of digital and print production processes, including specs for large format, vehicle wraps, and

exhibition booth design.
