Job description

Job Title: Deputy Store Manager
Job Purpose

Ensures that overall sales and profitability goals for the store are met by 1) providing training to all associates; 2) assisting the Store Manager in staff development aligned with adidas Retail growth objectives; 3) overseeing daily store operations and ensuring compliance with adidas Retail policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Supports the Store Manager by implementing and maintaining an efficient staff structure that minimizes payroll expenses and increases productivity.
  2. Assists the Store Manager by evaluating employee performance daily.
  3. Completes or assists in the documentation related to applicants, new hires, and payroll.
  4. Utilizes customer service, training, educational tools, and communication to develop staff in line with adidas Retail goals.
  5. Maintains personnel files according to company standards.
  6. Ensures adherence to all company systems and procedures.
  7. Maintains confidentiality of adidas Retail operating information.
  8. Ensures compliance with legal statutes and safety guidelines in managing the store and its associates.
  9. Develops necessary skills through daily interactions and training for potential promotion to the next level.
  10. Adheres to adidas Retail visual presentation guidelines.
  11. Implements security procedures set by adidas Head Office, including shrinkage control and safety inspections.
  12. Assists in developing merchandising, advertising, and promotional programs to meet sales and marketing goals.
  13. Resolves customer complaints effectively.
  14. Helps maintain inventory levels by communicating with the Store Manager regarding overages and shortages.
  15. Supports the Store Manager in implementing management systems for planning, organization, control, and auditing store operations.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High school diploma and 2 years of retail management experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective speaking skills for communicating with groups of customers or employees. Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages. Interprets instructions in various formats.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and point of sale systems.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills.
