About the Role
Our client is seeking a Deputy Site Manager to support the Construction Manager in leading onsite operations for a major renewable energy infrastructure project. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of all construction activities and maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and stakeholder engagement. In the absence of the Construction Manager, the Deputy will assume full leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and oversee day-to-day construction activities in line with the business' regulatory standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective on-site execution.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks while solving issues to support project success.
- Maintain a professional presence and represent the company positively to all stakeholders.
- Assist in ensuring projects are delivered to high technical standards, on time, and within budget.
- Ensure project documentation is complete for successful handover.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports.
- Support the Construction Manager in managing contractor interfaces and performance.
- Engage and support local stakeholders including municipalities, landowners, and community members.
- Participate in resolving project delivery issues and construction disputes.
- Guide, train, and support staff in improving performance and correcting deficiencies.
- Provide technical guidance to the site team on construction issues.
- Interpret and apply engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Jointly responsible with the CM and HSE Manager for all site health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Assist with HSE audits, inspections, and the review of compliance documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure construction, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Background in civil, electrical, concrete, or crane disciplines – wind farm experience highly regarded.
- Degree in Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction engineering practices and design specifications.
- Proven ability to work independently, lead teams, and make decisions under pressure.
- Skilled in multi-disciplinary and multicultural team management.
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel locally as required.
