Job description

A vacancy exists for a Deputy Hospital Manager, based at Life Vincent Pallotti, reporting to the Hospital Manager. This role is part of the business's sustainability strategy, focusing on continued development, decision-making involvement, profit responsibility, and talent retention. The successful candidate will meet the needs of internal and external customers by executing strategic and operational objectives in growth, quality, and people management, leading and coordinating all complementary business units' activities.

Critical Outputs

The incumbent will work in a large hospital, reporting directly to the Regional Manager, with profit accountability and operational responsibility for the respective units:

  • Quality Systems Management: Implementing and improving quality metrics, ensuring compliance with clinical benchmarking and ISO certification, and addressing problems through root cause analysis.
  • Hospital Operations Management: Developing best practices and strategic plans to optimize hospital functions.
  • People Management: Leading initiatives, managing feedback meetings, developing staffing and training plans, managing performance, and fostering positive work relationships.
  • Doctor Relationship Management: Developing retention strategies and attracting doctors.
  • Marketing Strategy Implementation: Understanding competitors and positioning projects to enhance hospital visibility.
  • Financial Targets Achievement: Budget preparation and monitoring, managing Capex projects, developing new business opportunities, maximizing revenue, and controlling costs.
  • Governance and Risk Management: Conducting risk assessments and reviews to uphold ethics and manage risks.
Requirements
  • Post-graduate degree in Commerce, Engineering, Health Sciences, or relevant business field.
  • Life Healthcare Hospital Manager Development Program completion is advantageous.
  • Proven healthcare management experience, including financial management and business planning.
  • Knowledge of private healthcare industry and legislation.
  • Computer proficiency and a valid driver's license with the ability to travel nationally.
