Overview

Our client - a private school in Centurion is looking for a Deputy Head - High School. Discipline and Pastoral care

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a member of the School Management Team (SMT)
  • Oversee all matters relating to student discipline and behaviour management
  • Implement and monitor the school’s code of conduct and disciplinary policies
  • Support and mentor staff in effective classroom management
  • Conduct disciplinary hearings internally and represent the school in external hearings
  • Lead initiatives to promote positive behaviour and student wellbeing
  • Oversee pastoral care programmes to support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Work hand in hand with the Sports and Arts Coordinator to ensure discipline and encourage participation in the co-curricular programme
  • Coordinate the Bible Education lessons across the school
  • Liaise with parents, guardians, and external professionals where necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions and pastoral intervention
  • Report regularly to the Principal on discipline and pastoral care matters
