Our esteemed client, a prominent leader in the manufacturing industry and part of a publicly listed group, is seeking a dynamic and resilient Engineer in the Manufacturing domain. This is a demanding role that requires an individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Degree (Hons) or (MEng) in one or more of the following Engineering disciplines:

Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Engineer is to ensure production processes deliver high-quality products in a cost-effective, safe, and reliable manner. The Engineer will also maintain factory assets to guarantee continuous and reliable production. The ideal candidate must have extensive maintenance experience and a hands-on approach, leading process and maintenance functions, including strategic direction, resource management, and process excellence.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification engineering or process experience in manufacturing
  • Extensive maintenance experience is highly advantageous

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Factory Manager in developing and executing asset preservation strategies, management objectives, and operational plans.
  • Review and recommend updates to the asset register based on asset condition.
  • Formulate maintenance budgets and asset preservation strategies based on past performance and expenses.
  • Review plant performance to identify issues and implement improvements.
  • Define and enforce maintenance standards for safety and cost-effectiveness.
  • Translate asset strategies into plans, budgets, and KPIs, ensuring the right skills are in place.
Management of Maintenance
  • Oversee preventive and reactive maintenance to optimize asset performance.
  • Evaluate work orders and address issues with relevant departments.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and asset status using SAP and Excel.
  • Implement scheduled maintenance for critical equipment.
Quality and Continuous Improvement
  • Drive process and maintenance improvements through KPI reviews, defect elimination, and projects.
  • Record and prioritize continuous improvement tasks.
  • Ensure quality specifications are maintained and customer complaints are analyzed to prevent defects.
People Management
  • Lead and manage the team, facilitate operational meetings, and coordinate with suppliers and OEMs.
  • Develop personnel, ensure training, and create development plans for key roles.
Safety, Health, and Environment
  • Ensure compliance with SHERQ regulations and conduct safety inspections and audits.
  • Monitor and address SHEQR indicators and ensure safe equipment usage.
Process Management
  • Set and communicate production objectives, review performance, and prepare reports.
Soft Skills
  • Self-motivated, independent, ambitious, result-oriented, with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Asset management, contract evaluation, defect elimination, and lifecycle planning.
