Lead and drive strategic planning for logistics and customer service functions, exceeding customer expectations while maximizing profitability and maintaining strict compliance with governance requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develops a high performing, motivated, disciplined and positive team aligned to the company core values.
Organising and controlling the depot's resources to ensure maximum efficiency of the depot through effective management of people, assets, costs and productivity.
Ensure the continuous compliance and upkeep of the depot by strictly adhering to all legal, health, safety, and company policy requirements at all times.
Ensure all employees have the equipment, training and tools to carry out their duties effectively.
To ensure that all operational standards and procedures within the depot are carried out effectively in line with company operating procedures.
Develop and implement plans to deliver all elements of the company objectives.
To drive effective service delivery across both internal and external customers.
Management and coordination of integrated operations across multiple logistics functions servicing internal and external customers.
Development and execution of Depot Business Plan in line with Group imperatives.
Responsible for Financial and Legal governance.
Manage financial performance.
Drive profitability.
Ensure corporate governance is adhered to.
Oversee:
Inventory Management.
Logistics Operations (Retail, Primary, Secondary and Exports).
Health and Safety and overall Risk mitigation.
Drive customer service excellence by implementing tailored service offerings that ensure On-Time, In-Full, No Errors (OTIFNE) delivery.
Drive productivity and performance across the warehouse and distribution chain.
Manage strategic projects.
Management of Human Capital and execute the People Plan.
Skill development.
Industrial Relations.
Staff wellness.
Transformation.
Management of 3rd Party Contractors and Service Providers.
Work closely with the relevant business partners within the support functions to implement and drive policies, procedures and business initiatives.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Relevant tertiary qualification (B. Com or Diploma).
Preferably 5 - 10 years experience in an FMCG distribution environment.
