Job description

Purpose Of The Job

Responsible for leading, developing, monitoring, and managing the PMO function. The role will support the successful delivery of organizational strategic programs by providing oversight to inform prioritization decisions, defining and maintaining project management standards through effective facilitation, tracking, and reporting. The person appointed to this position will report to the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Key Performance Areas
  • Develop and implement the PMO strategy, operating model, frameworks, and charter.
  • Manage project managers, oversee day-to-day PMO activities, provide guidance on policies and processes, and collaborate with other departments to deliver projects.
  • Drive demand management process in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead, develop, monitor, and manage the PMO, fostering a culture of high performance, value-for-money, optimization, and innovation.
  • Support the CIO by managing ICT and Digital Transformation project portfolios ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Facilitate consensus among PMO stakeholders and leadership to foster a project-management-oriented culture.
  • Manage and develop a team of business analysts and enhance IT Services business analysis capabilities.
  • Lead and develop IT Quality Assurance and Testing capabilities and teams.
  • Implement project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines, and standards to support project success.
  • Facilitate processes for project planning and prioritization by leadership and governance.
  • Define and manage the end-to-end PMO work effort, leveraging best practices to realize benefits.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to PMO staff and project managers.
  • Build relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Review and improve project management practices to achieve higher maturity in Project Portfolio Management (PPM).

The candidate must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, creativity, innovation, attention to detail, customer focus, and a blend of business and IT skills. Ability to build cross-functional relationships, influence, and negotiate effectively.
