Requirements :

  • A BChD or equivalent qualification. A minimum of one year post community service experience. Registration with HPCSA as a dentist in the independent category. Demonstration of interest in the discipline will be advantageous. A pass in primary subjects, ATLS and postgraduate program should be the targets of the incumbent. Every 6 months, the performance of the incumbent will be reviewed, and the contract is renewable after a year based on satisfactory performance. Maximum contract period is two years.

Duties :

  • During the contract period the incumbent will be responsible for service rendering, student supervision, presentation in academic seminars and research.

  • These positions will be joint appointments between the Gauteng Department of Health and the following academic institutions: University of Witwatersrand /University of Pretoria and/ Sefako Makgatho University. Registrars will be required to rotate between the different institutions. Preference will be given to South African citizens. The performance of normal and commuted overtime is not mandatory, however it will be based on the operational needs of the hospitals.
